- HOW TO BUILD A HIERARCHICAL ADDRESS

- A hierarchical address is composed of 4 parts:

- 1. Region (optional)
- 6 characters maximum starting with a "#" character. Indicates a region
- within a province or state.

- Example: W6MNO.#SOCAL.CA.USA.NA (SOCAL = South California)

- 2. Province or state (if applicable)
- 2 characters corresponding to postal services designators.
- For example, "PQ" for Quebec.

- Example: VE2PAK.PQ.CAN.NA

- 3. Country
- 3 characters. "CAN" for Canada.

- 4. Continent
- 2 characters designating the continent. "NA" for North America.

- NOTES:
- 1. The dot "." character separating each element of the address is very
- important.

- hierarchical addresses in use.
